The 27th Annual Texas Winter Series continued its momentum last weekend as the action shifted to Billa Dilla for Round Four of the five-round championship.

Riders were greeted with perfect conditions, thanks to excellent track prep and clear, sunny skies throughout the weekend. Temperatures climbed into the mid-70s, making it the warmest round of the series so far.

Set in Palestine, Texas, Billa Dilla stands out as one of the most scenic amateur motocross tracks on the circuit. Billy Stevens and his crew delivered all weekend long, providing an epic track, that produced epic battles and a layout that every racer seemed to enjoy.
Let’s get into the action.
Ryder Davis Locks Up the P-Dub Championship
Man, what a winter it has been for Ryder Davis. A DNS in moto two at the opening round at Freestone made for a not-so-awesome start to the season for this little dude. But after that, the switch was flipped. Wins stacked up, overalls were swept, and he left Billa Dilla as the 2026 Texas Winter Series P-Dub Champion, clinching the title one round early.

Racing at Billa Dilla kicked off with Austin Bowman grabbing a solid hole shot, dragging Roczen Hill, Marshall Richez, Hendrick Carroll, River Williams, and the rest of the field along for the ride. Hill wasted no time taking over the lead, while Bowman held onto second through the first lap.

Lap two saw Davis move into second as Carroll came flying through to snag third from Bowman. Up front, Hill was pushing hard, but the champ was on a mission—laying down laps nearly five seconds quicker than everyone else. And somehow, in the middle of it all, we almost got ran over by a parent running on the sidelines.

Still a little shaken, we almost missed the shot of Davis grabbing the lead on lap three. After that, he went on to win the moto, and sent it so hard on the finish line, his P-dub broke.

Hill finished just under five seconds back in second, Carroll held on for third, Bowman took fourth, and Williams rounded out the top five.

For the second moto, Roczen Hill grabbed the holeshot and led the opening lap, with Davis, Carroll, Bowman, and Williams in chase like it was recess. Davis and Hill battled most of the race, lapping all the way up to ninth place, because why not.

After briefly swapping positions, Davis grabbed the lead and cruised to victory, finishing just two seconds ahead of Hill. Bowman snagged the final podium spot, Carroll took fourth, and Kingston Kanz charged from ninth to fifth like he had somewhere VERY important to be.

65cc 7-11
The 65cc 7–11 class delivered pure chaos in the opening moto. As soon as the gate dropped, 22 riders blasted down the start straight and slammed into turn one. Shannon Tarnow, Tate Brush, Kellan Cooper, Shaw Vandenburg, and Brady Hall escaped the madness and surged to the front, but behind them a huge pileup unfolded, taking out Wyatt Kurosky, Knox Pomeroy, and more.

Tarnow lit the fuse early, opening a two-second advantage over Brush on the opening lap. Behind them Vandenburg who was running fourth had his hands full defending against Hall for fourth while lining up Cooper in third. He made the pass on Cooper on the third lap.

Up front, the fight for the lead reached a boiling point. Brush, running second, clocked the fastest lap of the moto and closed to Tarnow’s rear wheel as they began the final lap. Tarnow defended aggressively, answering back after Brush briefly made the pass.

The two went bar-to-bar to the checkered flag, with Brush taking the win by just 0.101 seconds.

The second moto got off to a much cleaner start, with Brady Hall leading the way. Brush, Cooper, Pomeroy, and Kurosky rounded out the top five on the opening lap. Brush made his move for the lead heading down the first hill, while Cooper settled into third. Pomeroy ran fourth early but was passed by Kurosky on lap three. By the final lap, Brush had checked out with over a ten-second lead. Hall continued to run steady in second, as Kurosky closed in on Cooper for third. Cooper held strong, while Vandenburg made the pass on Pomeroy to secure fifth.

Brush went 1-1 to secure the overall win. Hall’s 5-2 scores grabbed him second overall on the day (yeah, really), with Kellan Cooper’s 4-3 finishes earning third. First moto runner-up Shannon Tarnow, called it early and did not line up for moto two.

Rad battles
Kellan Cooper vs Knox Pomeroy 65cc 7-9

The bikes may be bigger, but the racing between Kellan Cooper and Knox Pomeroy looks exactly the same. After battling all last summer on 50s, the two were back at it in the 65cc 7–9 class. Cooper grabbed both moto wins, but Pomeroy made sure he earned them—especially in Moto Two, where he led laps and fought Cooper to the finish.
Skylar Draycott vs Hailey Johnson Woman’s 12+

Hailey Johnson and Skylar Draycott split moto wins in the Women’s 12+ class, with both races decided by close margins. Johnson, traveling in from Motley, Minnesota, took the win in Moto One, edging out Draycott by less than a second. In Moto Two, Draycott grabbed the early lead and went on to lead every lap, with Johnson close behind in second. With 2-1 scores, Draycott secured the overall on the day.
Gauge Brown vs Jake Willis School Boy 1

These two put on a show. Gauge Brown and Jake Willis were absolutely hauling the mail all day at Billa Dilla, ripping 125s around the track with lap times quicker than the pros while going bar-to-bar every moto. Brown was flawless in the 125cc 12–17 class, sweeping the day 1-1. But in Schoolboy 1, Willis set up a last lap pass in moto two to edge Brown and secure the overall. Without question, one of the best battles of the day.

Perfect Day: 1-1-1-1 for Callahan Russo in 50cc 4–8 open / 50cc 7-8
Callahan Russo delivered a perfect performance at Billa Dilla, leading every lap and winning every moto he entered—and doing it without much drama up front.

His dominant day kicked off in the Micro 4–8 Open class, where he, Jon Luke Arroyo, Ozzy Barbaree Jr. Tripp Bruton, and Dallas Heiner quickly broke away from the field. By mid-moto, Russo had already stretched his lead to nearly six seconds and looked firmly in control. Bruton made a clean move on Heiner for fourth on lap two, while Barbaree Jr. settled into a steady run in second.

On the final lap, Russo was long gone at the front, and Bruton turned up the intensity, charging hard and nearly stealing third from Arroyo at the line.

The second moto brought a little more action, starting with Braxton Angello grabbing a killer holeshot and running up front early (nice one, dude). Right behind him were the top five front-runners from the opening moto. Russo didn’t waste much time slicing his way to the front, with Jon Luke Arroyo and Ozzy Barbaree Jr. settling into second and third as the race took shape.

Up front, the top three stayed close, with Arroyo and Barbaree making sure Russo couldn’t completely check out. Late in the moto, Barbaree turned up the pressure, closing fast on Arroyo as the two diced through lapped traffic in a heated battle for second. Arroyo kept it clean to the finish, grabbing second in the moto and locking down second overall on the day.

85 9-13
The 85cc 9–13 class delivered a lot of great racing. Adam Aguirre led every lap in the first moto with a smooth, consistent ride, while Brayden Marzka charged from fifth to second, making a last-lap pass on Remington Stephens just before the finish. Loklan Teichrib and Charles Orr followed with solid rides to complete the top five.

Moto two belonged to Marzka, who wasted no time getting to the front. Aguirre, Travis Quebodeaux, Terry Kinney, and Teichrib rounded out the top five early, with Aguirre slipping back to fourth on lap two as Quebodeaux and Kinney applied the pressure. Marzka stayed composed out front and cruised to the win, while Kinney closed the gap late, laying down the fastest lap of the moto at 1:54.773 to secure second. A strong rebound after a tough first moto.

Marzka earned the overall with 2–1 scores, Aguirre finished second overall with 1–4 results, and Quebodeaux locked in the final podium spot with 6–3 finishes.

BILLA DILLA SHREDERS
Jaxson Bailey

We thoroughly enjoyed watching Jaxson Bailey put on a show in the Supermini class. Throwing big whips and charging every lap, he was one of the most exciting riders on the track. Bailey backed it up with results too, going 1-1 in Supermini 12–16. We only wish he had lined up for more classes; he was that fun to watch.
Mason Brown

Mason Brown controlled nearly every lap of the 250 B class, leading 11 of 12 combined laps across both motos en route to a 1-1 sweep. It wasn’t without pressure, though, as Cash Landry stayed glued to him all day, finishing just seconds behind Brown in both motos
Mason Wright

The 250 C Jr. title fight tightened up this weekend as Mason Wright earned his first overall win of the season going 2-1 over points leader Jason Kuhlman. Wright is now just two points out of the lead entering the final round at Freestone. In 250 C, he swept both motos (1-1) and carries a six-point championship lead over Blain Westbrook going into the final weekend.
Womans 25 +
Shelby Brittain’s talent was on full display at Billa Dilla as she dominated the Women’s 25+ class, winning both motos by close to a minute over her competition. While she controlled the lead, the real storyline unfolded behind her, where the championship chase intensified. Lex Clark and Samantha Brown entered round four separated by only six points, continuing a season-long back-and-forth that has defined the class all winter.

In the first moto, Lex Clark got the better start and ran second behind Brittain, with Brown right on her rear wheel. Brown made the move for second and began to pull away as Clark dealt with a subframe issue.

In the second moto, Brittain once again jumped out front right away, continuing her dominant weekend. An early mistake sent Brown to the ground on the opening lap, and she crossed the line on lap one in fourth, about eight seconds behind Clark. Brown put her head down, passed Sabrina Ritzier for third, then made the move on Clark on lap three to take over second, where she would finish the moto. Shoutout to Ritzier, who threw a sick whip over the finish—one we somehow managed to miss.

A two-point gap is all that stands between Clark and Brown heading into the final round. Sunday at Freestone decides the Women’s 25+ Texas Winter Series Champion, and it’s shaping up to be a good one.

Shelby Swien Delivers a Powerful National Anthem Performance
When the national anthem kicked off at Billa Dilla Sunday morning, the whole place stopped. Women’s 25+ racer Shelby Swien sang it with pride, and it was something special.
Remarkable rides
Wyatt Kurosky

After getting caught in a first-turn pileup in the 65cc 7–11 moto, Wyatt Kurosky crossed the opening lap in 22nd place. Refusing to give up, Kurosky charged through the pack, storming his way to 13th overall — including four impressive passes on the final lap alone.
Jaxon Moore

Joe Barbier

Carter Hill #101
Carter Hill found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time in the 85cc 10–14 moto, getting caught up in a first-turn pileup that sent several riders down. He remounted and salvaged a 17th place finish in moto one.

In moto two, he made it safely through the start and ran inside the top five on the opening lap. After slipping back one position, he secured a solid sixth-place finish. Carter ended the day 11th overall and, most importantly, walked away healthy after a scary first-moto crash.
Braxton Pate #7 / Rosston Fanning #223 Mini-E Jr. 4-6

Consistency paid off for Braxton Pate this weekend. The Rhome, Texas native joined the series and claimed the Mini-E Jr 4–6 overall victory, finishing 3rd in Moto 1 and 2nd in Moto 2. Pate battled hard with Ryder Davis and Rosston Fanning, with Fanning also turning in a standout performance, going 4–3 to secure third overall.
